Case against Muslim man in Karnataka for'relationship' with Hindu girl, who is minor

A case has been officially registered against a man in Karnataka's Mandya district for reportedly engaging in a 'relationship' with a 15-year-old minor girl. The individual, identified as Syed Tabriz, aged 22, now faces a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case after the minor girl went missing for a day. Concerned about her disappearance and suspecting possible kidnapping, the parents of the girl lodged a complaint at the Mandya police station.

Mandya SP Yathish N provided insights into the situation, stating, "The girl was absent for a day, prompting the registration of a complaint. Subsequent investigations revealed that she had been traveling in and around the district on a train with Tabriz."

In response to the unfolding events, various pro-Hindu groups, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, staged a demonstration near the Mandya Police Station. Their protest on Sunday contended that Islamic organizations were allegedly aiding individuals in the conversion of Hindu girls in Karnataka. The pro-Hindu groups, notably, labeled the case as a manifestation of "love jihad."

Members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad asserted that Islamic organizations were providing support to individuals like Tabriz, fostering the conversion of Hindu girls. One member of the VHP expressed, "Jihad is the primary motive. They are purportedly taking Hindu girls under the pretext of love and converting them. More than conversion, terrorists are allegedly committing sexual offenses against women, resulting in the loss of their lives." This sentiment was emphasized during the demonstration, amplifying concerns and allegations related to religious conversions and the broader implications of such incidents.
