Police are informed by Suchana Seth's husband of a potential "trigger" for his son's murder

Venkat Raman, the estranged spouse of Suchana Seth, who has been apprehended in connection with the alleged homicide of their four-year-old son at a service apartment in Goa, provided a detailed statement to the Calangute Police on Saturday, delving into the intricacies of his relationship with Seth and recounting events spanning from 2010 to 2024. During this statement, Raman expounded on what he perceives as a potential catalyst for Seth's purported act of harming their child.

Raman conveyed that Seth had consistently impeded his access to their child for the preceding four Sundays. Despite receiving a message urging him to meet their son on January 7, it was revealed that she had already departed for Goa on January 6 and allegedly committed the heinous act the following day.

In a development on Friday, the Calangute Police took Suchana Seth to the service apartment in Goa to reconstruct the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

Meanwhile, Goa Director General of Police (DGP) Jaspal Singh informed the news agency ANI that the accused, Suchana Seth, exhibited a lack of cooperation in the ongoing investigative procedures. He emphasized that this is a preliminary phase of the inquiry, and the investigators plan to confront the accused with the evidence amassed during the investigation.

Singh further elucidated that there is a 90-day window for filing the chargesheet, emphasizing the collection of all relevant evidence and the ongoing preliminary investigation. He underscored the commitment to comprehensively understanding the motive behind the crime, ensuring a logical conclusion to the incident.

The accused underwent routine medical examination under the vigilant supervision of the police. Authorities disclosed that the woman was apprehended in Karnataka's Chitradurga district while attempting to flee in a cab, carrying her son's lifeless body concealed in a bag.
