'Pran Pratistha' event invites judges who handed down the landmark Ayodhya case ruling

The five distinguished judges who delivered the landmark verdict in the Ram Janmabhoomi case at the Supreme Court over four years ago, forming the Constitution bench, have been extended invitations to attend the Ayodhya Ram Mandir consecration ceremony on January 22 as state guests.

This esteemed panel, comprising former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, ex-CJI SA Bobde, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, and former Supreme Court judges Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer, played a pivotal role in the 2019 decision that favored the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site by a trust.

In addition to the judicial luminaries, the guest list for the event includes more than 50 jurists, encompassing former chief justices, judges, and eminent lawyers. Notable figures such as Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and former Attorney General KK Venugopal have also received invitations.

The ongoing preparations are in full swing for the grand 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to be the chief guest at the event, marking the auspicious inauguration of the Ram temple.

The initial glimpses of the idol of Ram Lalla, gracefully installed within the sanctum sanctorum (garbhagriha) of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, were revealed on Thursday. The week-long religious rituals for the 'Pran Pratistha' ceremony commenced on January 16 and are scheduled to continue until January 21.

With expectations of the attendance of over 7,000 individuals, including politicians, celebrities, industrialists, and saints, the temple town of Ayodhya has undergone significant enhancements in preparation for the momentous Ram Mandir event. Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled commemorative postage stamps on Ayodhya's Ram Temple and a book featuring stamps dedicated to Lord Ram from various parts of the world on Thursday.
