"BJP will eliminate reservations by 2025" is Revanth Reddy's major assertion

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has accused the BJP of planning to eliminate reservations for marginalized communities, including SCs, STs, and BCs, by the centenary year of its ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 2025.

Reddy claimed that the BJP's goal of achieving "400 paar" in the Lok Sabha elections was aimed at garnering enough seats to scrap quotas for SC, ST, and BC communities.

He highlighted previous actions by the BJP, including halting the implementation of the Mandal Commission report, which proposed reservations for Backward Classes (BC), as evidence of their intentions.

Reddy's remarks come in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's criticism of the Congress party's stance on reservations during a rally in Madhya Pradesh. Modi accused Congress of attempting to politicize reservation policies based on religion, specifically mentioning Congress's inclusion of Muslims under the OBC category in Karnataka.

Modi warned against diluting reservations for OBCs, stating that the Constitution makers had decided that reservation cannot be given based on religion. He characterized the Congress's actions as an "alarm bell" for OBC communities across the country.

The political rhetoric surrounding reservations underscores the contentious nature of the issue and its significance in Indian politics.
