Mamata Banerjee calls someone a "job-eater" BJP following the layoff of 26,000 teachers

In response to the Calcutta High Court's cancellation of nearly 26,000 teacher recruitments, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the BJP, labeling it a "job-eater" and accusing its leaders of conspiring to deprive thousands of their livelihoods. Speaking at an election rally in support of TMC's Ghatal candidate, Banerjee also targeted the CPI(M) and Congress, branding them as allies of the BJP in the state.

Banerjee condemned the reactions of BJP, CPI(M), and Congress leaders following the court's verdict, emphasizing that the people of West Bengal would not forgive them for their actions. She expressed dismay over the court's decision to demand salary returns with interest from the affected individuals, stressing the need for a fair resolution to the issue.

The Chief Minister alleged that the BJP, along with other opposition parties, was hindering the state government's efforts to recruit 10 lakh people and accused them of exploiting unemployed youth for electoral gains. She questioned the BJP's commitment to education in the state and warned against religious polarization tactics.

Banerjee criticized the BJP's influence on the election schedule in West Bengal, highlighting the disparity between Bengal's seven-phase poll and Tamil Nadu's single-phase election. She accused the Centre of withholding funds for social welfare schemes and highlighted unfulfilled promises, including the pledge to deposit Rs 15 lakh into people's bank accounts.

The Chief Minister urged voters to support TMC candidates, emphasizing the party's commitment to fighting the BJP's communal and undemocratic agenda. She also recounted her past efforts in standing with the people of the region during turbulent times, contrasting it with the BJP's alleged neglect.

Banerjee reiterated her slogan of 'badla noy, badal chai' (want change, not revenge), underscoring her belief in transformative governance over vindictive politics.
