Strong winds and heavy rain batter Delhi-NCR, affecting flights

The heavy rain and gusty winds that lashed Delhi on Tuesday evening brought a much-needed reprieve from the sweltering heatwave conditions that had gripped the region.

Social media platforms were flooded with visuals of the rain, depicting various parts of the national capital drenched in the downpour.

However, the sudden change in weather prompted SpiceJet to issue a statement, cautioning travelers about potential flight disruptions. The airline informed passengers that departures, arrivals, and subsequent flights may be affected due to the adverse weather conditions in Delhi.

The unexpected rainfall came as a surprise to residents, offering relief from the scorching temperatures that had prevailed in the city.

While Delhi experienced relief from the heat, other parts of India continue to grapple with heatwave conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that regions including Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh will continue to experience heatwave conditions until April 26.
