Sunetra, the wife of Ajit Pawar, exits the alleged Rs 25,000 crore bank scandal unscathed

The Economic Offences Wing's decision to exonerate Sunetra Pawar, wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, in an alleged Rs 25,000 crore MSCB bank scam case has sparked controversy, drawing swift criticism from the Opposition Shiv Sena (UBT).

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey expressed skepticism over the EOW's decision, referencing previous allegations made by Prime Minister Modi regarding corruption within the Pawar family. Dubey highlighted the perceived contradiction between these accusations and Sunetra Pawar's recent clearance by the EOW. He noted that several leaders accused of wrongdoing who later joined the BJP have also received similar clean chits, raising questions about the impartiality of the investigation.

Sunetra Pawar, representing the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP Ajit Pawar), is contesting against her sister-in-law, Supriya Sule, daughter of Sharad Pawar, from the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra. Sule is the candidate of NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar). Baramati, Ajit Pawar's constituency, holds significant familial ties for the Pawar family.

The clean chit issued to Sunetra Pawar adds another layer of complexity to the electoral dynamics in Baramati, intensifying the political rivalry within the influential Pawar family and drawing attention to the broader implications of the ongoing investigation.
