The chief minister of Madhya Pradesh receives unique breed cows from Andhra

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his delight on Sunday as he welcomed a pair of Punganur cows, specially brought from Andhra Pradesh. Sharing images of himself with these unique breed cows, Yadav credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inspiring him to rear them and named the cows Meera and Gopal.

In his post on X, Yadav highlighted the significance of serving mother cows and extended a warm welcome to Meera and Gopal at his residence. The Punganur cow, known for its dwarf stature, originates from the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh and is recognized as one of the world's smallest humped cattle breeds.

Yadav emphasized the conservation efforts for the Punganur breed, mentioning that it was on the brink of extinction but is now being preserved across the country, thanks to the inspiration from Prime Minister Modi. He referred to a viral video from January showing the Prime Minister affectionately interacting with a Punganur cow at his residence, which drew attention to the rare breed.

Expressing his reverence for the significance of cows in Indian culture, Yadav prayed for the continued blessings of Mother Cow on the people of the state. He also mentioned that he already has a cow named Lakshmi at his residence, showcasing his commitment to cow rearing and conservation.
