Day 9 box office receipts for Kesari Chapter 2: Akshay Kumar's film soars, earning Rs 57 crore

Kesari Chapter 2 continues to perform remarkably at the box office, with a significant surge in its earnings on Day 9. The film, starring Akshay Kumar, has now grossed Rs 57.15 crore in its first nine days of release. On Saturday, the film earned Rs 7 crore, marking a notable 72.84% increase from its Friday earnings of Rs 4.05 crore, according to Sacnilk data. The overall box office trend suggests that Kesari 2 is on track to collect around Rs 66 crore by the end of its second Sunday.

The film's performance saw a steady rise in theatre occupancy, which averaged at 25.22% for the day. The morning shows had a modest 11.24% occupancy, but by evening, this figure increased to 37.17%, reflecting an uptick in audience interest. A significant factor behind this growth is the introduction of the BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) offer on Friday, which led to a boost in ticket sales and positive word-of-mouth among moviegoers.

Kesari Chapter 2, a spiritual successor to Akshay Kumar's 2019 film Kesari, is set in the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Akshay Kumar plays the role of lawyer C Sankaran Nair, who takes on the British Empire in a courtroom battle. R Madhavan plays his rival, Neville McKinley, and Ananya Panday plays Dilreet Gill. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film also stars Regina Cassandra, Amit Sial, Simon Paisley Day, and Alexx O'Nell.

With its success at the box office, Kesari Chapter 2 will soon face competition from Rajkumar Gupta's Raid 2, which is set to release on May 1. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saurabh Shukla, making the upcoming weeks even more exciting for Bollywood moviegoers.
