Dislike India's Got Latent: Abhijeet Dipke of the CJP refers to Samay Raina as privileged

Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has said he is not a fan of Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent and would never participate in the show. Speaking during a recent interview, Dipke described Raina as “privileged,” a remark that triggered mixed reactions online.

During an appearance on Unfiltered by Samdish, Dipke was discussing his favourite stand-up comedians when he was asked whether he would consider appearing on India’s Got Latent.

Responding in Hindi, he said, “I will not go to India’s Got Latent. I don’t like it. The mindset that ‘why should we fight, let’s take the easy route and move on’ comes from privilege. You can choose that path because you are privileged.”

His comments quickly went viral, prompting debate on social media. While some users agreed with his criticism, many questioned his remarks, pointing out that Dipke himself studied in the United States and earned a Master’s degree in Public Relations from Boston University.

Several users argued that someone who had the opportunity to study abroad could also be considered privileged. Others accused him of presenting himself as an underdog despite having access to opportunities unavailable to many young Indians.

The India’s Got Latent Controversy

India’s Got Latent previously faced backlash after YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia made a controversial remark to a contestant, asking whether they would rather watch their parents have sex for the rest of their life or participate once to stop it forever. The comment sparked widespread outrage and led to multiple complaints and FIRs.

In his stand-up special Still Alive, Samay Raina later addressed the controversy, the legal cases that followed, and the pressure he faced in its aftermath, including being asked by a Mumbai police officer to apologise.

Following the backlash, all episodes of the first season were removed from public platforms. The show returned with its second season on June 20, 2026, launching simultaneously on YouTube and Netflix.

The premiere episode featured actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari as guests. It reportedly crossed 45 million views on YouTube and remained at the top of Netflix’s streaming charts for more than a week.

About CJP

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) was launched in May 2026 by political strategist Abhijeet Dipke as a satirical political movement. The initiative emerged after remarks by Surya Kant comparing unemployed youth and activists to “cockroaches” sparked public debate.

Since its formation, the youth-led group has focused on issues such as unemployment, examination-related irregularities, and accountability in public institutions.
