Actor Nagarjuna has praised Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part One trailer, calling it “brilliant” and singling out Ranbir Kapoor and Yash for particular appreciation. The highly anticipated mythological drama, inspired by sage Valmiki’s ancient epic Ramayan, has continued to generate significant buzz among audiences and the Indian film industry.
In a recent interview with Variety India, Nagarjuna shared his reaction to the trailer and revealed that Ranbir and Yash especially impressed him. Without divulging details about the film, he said, “I think it was brilliant. I really liked Yash and Ranbir.”
Nagarjuna also discussed the growing importance of film trailers and the expectations audiences attach to them. According to him, viewers often treat a trailer as their first introduction to a movie and use it to determine whether they want to watch it.
“As far as people's expectations are concerned, it is only natural. Whether it's an Indian, Hollywood or Korean film, you look at the trailer first and figure out whether it is something that you actually want to watch,” he said. “So, trailers have become very important. And they make a lot of difference to the opening of any film,” he added.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part One features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Arun Govil, who famously portrayed Lord Rama in Ramanand Sagar’s iconic television series Ramayan, will appear as King Dashratha in the film.
The cast also includes Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva and Saurabh Sachdeva as Maricha.
Ramayana: Part One will follow Lord Rama’s early years, his relationships and his emotional journey, beginning with his Gurukul days and Sita Swayamvar before moving into the 14-year exile with Sita and Lakshmana. The film is expected to conclude at a pivotal point, setting the stage for the larger conflict and war that will unfold in Ramayana: Part Two.
The second instalment is scheduled to release during Diwali 2027, while Ramayana: Part One is slated to hit theatres in India on November 8, 2026.
